Repetto Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition Giorgio Morandi and Beyond, curated by Maria Cristina Bandera. Hosted in the gallery’s venue in Lugano from 20 September to 13 December 2025, the exhibition proposes a reflection on the oeuvre of the renowned Italian painter and engraver in relation to a series of works by modern and contemporary artists who, through varied and heterogeneous approaches, engage with his poetics.
Ten paintings by Giorgio Morandi are presented in the exhibition, including landscapes, flowers and still lifes, as well as ten drawings and ten etchings, created between 1915 and 1963. The term Beyond in the title refers to the other artists selected by the curator in collaboration with Repetto Gallery to create an exhibition that weaves together relationships and references. Pier Paolo Calzolari, Gianni Caravaggio, Peter Dreher, Luigi Ghirri, David Hockney, Gianfranco Ferroni, Osvaldo Licini, Ben Nicholson, Sergio Romiti, Salvo, Sean Scully and Franco Vimercati are the protagonists of this inspiring dialogue.
