ENDLESS SUMMER / 16 May – 1 July 2026

Magazzino del Sale
Via Nazario Sauro, 24, Cervia
16 May - 1 July 2026

From May 16 to July 1, 2026, the Magazzino del Sale will host the second edition of ENDLESS SUMMER, a three-year exhibition cycle (2025–2027) conceived by MAGMA APS. Exploring the utopian idea of an endless summer as an evocative and narrative device, the project was created to experiment with new forms of curatorial collaboration, imagining the exhibition as a kind of jam session in which each curatorial voice and critical perspective is enhanced without rivalry or competition.

ENDLESS SUMMER is conceived as a shared experience built through dialogue and exchange. Over the course of the three-year project, a group of curators from different generations — each with distinct research interests and sensibilities — invites emerging and established visual artists from the Italian and international art scenes to reflect on summer as a poetic and imaginative suggestion. It is presented as a season in which time appears to expand, light reshapes rhythms and spaces, and new perceptions, visions, and desires emerge dynamically.

The title of the project is inspired by the 1960s surf documentary The Endless Summer by Bruce Brown, in which the director follows a group of surfers traveling between the two hemispheres in search of a perpetual summer. The exhibition embraces this paradox, evoking the image of an endless season as an unattainable ideal and an almost utopian dimension.

Among the participating artists, Alessandro Piangiamore will present Untitled (Volcano) (2012), a work composed of marine coral, postcards, and plexiglass.
