Fantastica – 18a Quadriennale d’arte / 11 October 2025 – 18 January 2026

Palazzo delle Esposizioni
Via Nazionale 194, 00184 Rome
11 October 2025 – 18 January 2026

The 18th Quadriennale d’arte, titled Fantastica, will take place at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome from October 2025 to January 2026. This extensive choral exhibition project tells the history of the Italian post year 2000 contemporary art scene, divided into five chapters representing the curators’ different perspectives: Luca Massimo Barbero, Francesco Bonami, Emanuela Mazzonis di Pralafera, Francesco Stocchi and Alessandra Troncone.

“Art is fantastic because of its ability to open up new horizons across all latitudes and eras. As a verb, fantastic is an invitation to rediscover the power of symbolism and the strength of imagination. Fantastica aims to convey an atmosphere of wonder, freshness and hope. In this sense, contemporary art offers the opportunity to open up new perspectives on things and provides unusual filters for interpretation and unexpected ways out. Even when it unsettles and confuses us, it is as if it is inviting us to lose ourselves and find ourselves again.”

Among the invited artists are Gianni Caravaggio and Arcangelo Sassolino, whose work is once again confirmed as being of great importance in the Italian and international art scenes.

Alongside Fantastica, the Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma is presenting a historical exhibition project dedicated to the 1935 Quadriennale d’arte, the most significant Italian art exhibition of the 1930s. This show is curated by Walter Guadagnini and is entitled I giovani e i maestri. La Quadriennale del ’35.
