Michelangelo Pistoletto. From Cittadellarte to Statodellarte / 3 February – 3 June 2026

Boncompagni Palace
Via del Monte 8, Bologna, Italy
3 February - 3 June 2026

From 3 February to 3 June 2026, Palazzo Boncompagni hosts the exhibition Michelangelo Pistoletto. From Cittadellarte to Statodellarte, curated by Silvia Evangelisti.

The exhibition brings together historical works and key projects spanning more than sixty years of research by Michelangelo Pistoletto, focusing on the relationship between art, society, and politics. It continues the dialogue initiated in 2021 between the artist and Palazzo Boncompagni, reaffirming the Palace’s commitment to contemporary artistic discourse.

At the heart of the project is the return to Bologna, after twenty years, of the Love Difference Table, installed in the Hall of the Papal Audiences. As the emblematic work of Love Difference – Artistic Movement for an InterMediterranean Politics, the table functions as a space for encounter, dialogue, and shared reflection.

The exhibition includes iconic works such as Venus of the Rags (1966), pieces addressing artificial intelligence, and a new large-scale mirror painting connected to the symbol of the Third Paradise, which represents the theoretical core of the project. Throughout the exhibition, the table will host a Public Program of talks and conversations addressing themes of art, ethics, and social responsibility.
